The chlor-alkali industry is one of the major electrochemical processes producing mainly chlorine and sodium hydroxide (caustic soda). Chlorine and sodium hydroxide are among the most produced chemicals in the world. Chlor-alkali process involves the electrolysis of sodium chloride solution (brine) producing chlorine at the anode and sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) at the cathode.
In the last 30 years many improvements were made in the chlor-alkali industry. There are two main milestones that revolutionized this process, the development of metal anodes and the changeover of the old diaphragm and mercury technologies to membrane cells. Nowadays, the membrane cell process is the most used in the world.
We, Ti Anode Fabricators Pvt. Ltd. (Tiaano), located in Chennai, India are the pioneer in design, manufacture, supply, installation & commissioning of Membrane Cell Elements / Electrolyzers and Electro Chemical Equipments by using Exotic metals such as Titanium, Nickel, Hastelloy, etc for the Chlor-Alkali Industry. Also we are doing the coating by using Precious metal oxides of… Iridium, Ruthenium, Palladium etc.
