ZERO GAP RETROFIT OF EXISTING CATHODE

We, Ti Anode Fabricators Pvt. Ltd. (Tiaano), located in Chennai, India has been established since 1992 with well-equipped latest in-plant facilities & qualified engineers.

The Chlor-Alkali Industry is one of the major electrochemical processes producing mainly chlorine and sodium hydroxide (caustic soda). Chlorine and sodium hydroxide are among the most produced chemical in the world. Chlor-alkali process involves the electrolysis of sodium chloride solution (brine) producing chlorine at the anode and sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) at the cathode.

In the finite / narrow gap electrolyzer, there is a gap between anode and cathode surface to avoid high pressure on membrane which leads to increase in the cell voltage.

ZEROGAP

Hence, to reduce the cell voltage by decreasing the gap between anode and cathode using the zero gap technology. In zero gap technology, both anode and cathode surfaces are in contact with the membrane, i.e. electrode gap equals to membrane thickness. Achieving uniform current distribution the original anode and cathode mesh are not fully flat; this is creating some non-uniformity in the current distribution. The elastic element can adjust its thickness following meshes profile, so the gap between anode and cathode is kept uniform.
